国产伦理's Women's Center is challenging men in the campus community to put on a pair of heels and show support for ending sexual violence at the 11th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.

It will be March 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Kaufman Mall.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international initiative. It is being held in conjunction with Women's History Month to help raise awareness about the effects of sexualized violence against women.

Heels will be available to borrow at the registration desk. Registration starts at noon.

Other Women's History Month events include:

March 18: Women's Climb Night, "Shero" Theme - Come to the Student Recreation Center and conquer the rock wall in a fun, friendly atmosphere. No experience needed. Bring insurance information to participate. 4-7 p.m.

March 19: Guest Lecture Series - Franny Choi - She is a Korean-American poet, playwright, editor, performer and organizer. Multipurpose Auditorium, Darden College of Education & Professional Studies, 6 p.m.

March 21: Guest Lecture Series - Zerlina Maxwell-Beyond Leadership: Understanding Politics, #MeToo, & Gender Equity - Maxwell is a TV political analyst, speaker and writer for a variety of national media outlets. She focuses on national politics and policy and cultural issues, including race, feminism, domestic violence, sexual assault, victim blaming and gender inequality. North Caf茅, Webb Student Center, 7 p.m.

March 21: Janet Peery - The English professor and author of "Alligator Dance," "The River Beyond the World," "What the Thunder Said" and "The Exact Nature of our Wrongs" is the distinguished guest for the Women's History Month celebration. Virginia Beach Higher Education Center, Lecture Hall 244. 12:30-1:30 p.m., with a reception to follow.

March 23: Women's Self-Defense Workshop - This free event aims to empower female students with easy self-defense techniques that can be used to escape a dangerous situation. Norfolk Karate Academy, 814A W. 45th St., 12:30-2:30 p.m.

March 26: Guest Lecture Series - Jane Elliott - The internationally known teacher, lecturer, diversity trainer and recipient of the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education exposes prejudice and bigotry as an irrational class system based upon purely arbitrary factors. North Caf茅, Webb Student Center, 6 p.m.

March 26: International Women's Month Dinner & Discussion - Hear about the professional and personal experiences of 国产伦理 alumnae and find out what you can do to lay the groundwork for success. Barry M. Kornblau Alumni Center, 6-8 p.m.
