Paul Falkowski
Rutgers University Professor Paul Falkowski will discuss microbes' essential role in the development of life on Earth as part of 国产伦理's College of Sciences' Dean's Lecture Series.
Falkowski's talk, titled "Life's engines: How microbes made Earth habitable," is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies' multipurpose auditorium (room 1106).
Falkowski, a faculty member in the departments of Earth and planetary sciences and marine and coastal sciences at Rutgers, will discuss how microbes made life on Earth possible - and how human life would cease without them.
"Dr. Falkowski's topic is particularly fascinating," said Gail Dodge, dean of the College of Sciences. "Without the early microbes, we would have no atmosphere on Earth."
