Christopher Schaefer receives the Employee of the Month award from Old Dominion's director of Human Resources for Employee Relations & Strategic Initiatives, JaRenae Whitehead.
Christopher Schaefer, Director of Athletic Development in University Advancement Athletic Fundraising, is 国产伦理's December Employee of the Month.
Schaefer has been with the University since 2016.
Schaefer is being recognized for his dedication and service contributions to the Old Dominion Athletic Fund (ODAF).
According to Schaefer's colleague Drew Turner, "Chris' exceptional performance started in late May/early June when he served as a key member of the successful reseating process of S.B. Ballard Stadium. Chris' amazing contributions were also reflected when he served as the liaison between the Old Dominion Athletic Fund and the 国产伦理 Ticket Office throughout the football reseating process."
Turner said Schaefer also demonstrated top performance by taking on job responsibilities of a vacated position within the department.
"In performing both roles, Schaefer has successfully managed his transition into this new role and has continued to be an asset." he said. "His ability to do this must be credited to his consistently demonstrated organization skills and work ethic."
Schaefer was recently promoted and earned Employee of the Month for University Advancement in July.
DETAILS ABOUT THE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH PROCESS
The University Employee of the Month Selection Committee encourages employees to nominate their outstanding, "go the extra mile" colleagues and employees. This program is designed to acknowledge and reward employees whose accomplishments and/or demeanor exemplify excellence, quality service and commitment to 国产伦理. Classified and AP faculty employees receive a framed certificate from the president, $175 and one day of leave. Hourly winners get $250, since they are not eligible to receive recognition leave.
Note: The selection committee needs specific examples that relate to each applicable criterion in order to select a nominee for the award. Nominations remain active for six months from date of submission and nominators may submit additional documentation to support a nominee during the active six months.
The criteria used to nominate an employee include the following:
- An outstanding accomplishment that benefited the department/students.
- Extraordinary service to internal and/or external customers.
- Inspiring initiative/leadership.
- Enthusiasm/energy given to assigned work.
- Teamwork.
- Exemplary efforts to nurture a climate of care, concern and civility.
- Creative innovations to service, process or work tools.
